Badoo is a social networking site that is popular in Europe and other countries. Unfortunately, the site is also known for sending spam emails to the contacts in your address book. If you have clinked on a Badoo.com invite from a friend or signed up on your own, you are risking the inboxes of your friends and family, not to mention your own.
No matter which email service provider you use, the only true way to stop these spam emails is to delete your account from Badoo. Follow these steps to do just that!
1. Sign On to Badoo
Navigate to Badoo and sign in to your account. Be sure to save any information that you have stored on the site to a zip drive; once you delete your account, this information will be lost.
You find the sign in option at the top of the homepage, on the right-hand side. You will be asked to enter an email address and your password. Once you have entered this information, click Let me in! You are then logged into your account.
2. Click on About Badoo
Scroll to the bottom of your homepage. You see the hyperlink About Badoo. Click on the link to be taken to the company’s profile page. Look at the left-hand side of the screen, and find the Contact Us link. Click on Contact Us and complete the form to delete your account. Be sure to let the company know exactly why you are leaving their fold!
3. Manual Deletion
If you feel like Badoo may be taking a bit too long to delete your account, you can delete it manually. Find the Settings tab located the top of your home screen. Click on the tab and find the Profile Settings page. Along the left-hand side, you see Delete Profile. Click on the tab.
Fill in the appropriate fields with the information required. Enter your password, and explain why you are leaving the site. Be sure to tell the powers-that-be that you are leaving because of their ceaseless use of your contact list. Click on the confirmation button. When you are done, you will see a message page that tells you that your request to delete your account was successful.
4. Check Your Email
Once you delete your account, Badoo sends you a confirmation email. You are given seven days to change your mind. Be aware that, should you reactivate you account, Badoo will once again have access to your contact list.
5. Send an Email
The only way to be sure that your friends and family are no longer receiving spam email is to ask them. Send a mass email apologizing for the unintentional spam, telling friends and family that you have deleted your account with Badoo. Ask each of your contacts to alert you if they should receive another email from the company. If it does happen, contact Badoo directly or file a complaint with your ISP provider. You may also choose to contact your email provider and ask for assistance in blocking Badoo’s access from your account.
